The Oncology Service works with owners and their veterinarians to diagnose and treat pets with cancer. Radiation oncology is a subspecialty that uses radiation therapy as the primary treatment. Radiation Oncology is typically combined with surgery to treat localized cancers. Radiation oncologists work closely with other physicians such as surgical oncologists, other surgeons, internal medicine subspecialists and medical oncologists, as part of the multi-disciplinary cancer team.
